Instruction

Instructional resources support the teaching of specific education and training content, and include lesson plans, curricula, and course outlines that can be implemented by classroom instructors in the context of a particular career cluster.

Resource Permissions

Instructional resources are vetted using the following criteria.

Bridge-related materials

Bridge program-related materials are resources that meet the following definition and core elements provided by The Joyce Foundation, Shifting Gears.

College and Career Ready Standards

Resources aligned to college and career ready standards.

Research / Theroetical Evidence

Resources grounded by theoretical and evidence or research base.

Resource Criteria

  1. Resource demonstrates connections to Adult Career Pathways.
  2. Resource is an allowable activity under Title II of the Workforce Investment Act (WIA).
  3. Permission to post the resource on the ACP-SC site is granted.
  4. Resource is accessible to the public through a URL and technical aspects do not interfere with use (e.g. download times, working links, multimedia applications) and appears to be 508 compliant.
  5. Resource is free to the public. If registration is required, registration is free and information is not used for solicitation purposes.
  6. Resource is respectful/non-biased and free of obvious stereotypes.
  7. Resource identifies the target audience, learner characteristics, or the instructional setting.
  8. Resource includes clear information or instructions on how the resource should be used.
  9. Learning objectives are clearly identified either in the resource or submission form.
  10. Resource is transportable to other adult education instructional settings.

All resources must meet the above criteria in order to be posted in the resource center. Other optional criteria include the following:

  1. Resource is a bridge program-related material.
  2. Resource aligns to college and career ready standards.
  3. Resource is grounded by theoretical and evidence or research base.
  4. Resource has demonstrated effectiveness.

Resource Criteria

Tier 2 instructional resources are those reviewed and recommended by the ACP Technical Work Group by meeting one and/or more of the following criteria:

  1. Resource aligns to common core standards; and/or
  2. Resource is grounded by theoretical and research base; and/or
  3. Resource has demonstrated effectiveness.

If you would like to submit an instructional resource for Tier 2 consideration, just check the box at the end of the submission form and the form will expand with the information sections you will need to complete to have the resource reviewed as a Tier 2 resource. Resources must meet at least one of the additional criteria to be considered for Tier 2 resource review.
